2 Points of clarification on the lag rules

2 Points of clarification on the lag rules 1. Failure to strike the ball before the opposing players ball has hit the top rail is automatic loss of the lag. e.g. Player A & B address the table to lag player A hits strikes the ball which hits the top rail, player B then strikes his ball, player B loses lag & player A has the choice. 2. The lag in doubles decides the order of play so only the players lagging may break or follow the break e.g. Player A & B v Player C & D players A & C lag, player A wins the lag and decides to break, he cannot pass the break to player B & after the break player C must follow. Players A & C lag player A wins the lag but passes break to opposition, player C must break & player A must follow.
